Rare Bic Lighter Colors

Flick by Flick
Bic Lighters, lighting the world one flick at a time. In fact, these lighters are so common that 5 million are purchased everyday in numerous countries worldwide. With billions of these pocket lighters out there, a big question still looms. Are there any rare Bic Lighter colors?
Search as far and as wide as you want, but you'll never come up with color statistics from Bic. It seems that we are just left to speculate ourselves about which color is the rarest. So from common observation, I'd say that we can eliminate Black, White, Red, Orange, Dark/Light Green, Dark Purple, Dark Blue, Denim Blue and Yellow from the picture.

So what colors are we left with? Pink, Brown, Light Blue and Light Purple are the oddballs of the Bic Lighter collection. Again, with no official numbers, we'll never be able to truly tell which of these colors is the least common. Luckily though, I've kept my eye out for many years in search of these elusive colors and found Light Purple to be the rarest. Brown, Pink and Light Blue prove to be hard finds, but I haven't seen a single Light Purple lighter for years!
You don't have to take my word for it though. Tell me about a rare Bic Lighter color that you've come across. I keep hearing rumors of a Grey Bic Lighter, but have yet to come by one. . .
What is the Rarest Color Bic

Yes, even Bic Lighters have fallen prey to myths and legends, as some colors are thought to bring bad luck. I can only speak for a few states, but people of Wyoming and Colorado believe White Bic Lighters are bad luck while others in Iowa feel the bad luck color is Yellow. Dude, it's just plastic, Don't Worry!

in my town yellow bics are hailed as the rarest
I have about 4 Yellow ones. they were rare for about 5 -7 years.
wanted to know what year the orange bic came out
i cant believe that brown is rare...i have a lot of them, and so do people i know. i only have one light purple and have only seen one in person.
it's the light purple for sure! this was my favorite color, and now as far as i can tell it has been completely discontinued :( ever since they introduced the brown lighter. who wants a brown lighter? yuck! there's a dark purple now, but that's not the same as it's really more of a dark blue. i say boo! bring back the light purple!!
Did I misunderstand you or did you say that you went through your old dead lighters? Do you keep your dead lighters?
I used to have a dark grey bic that had a black button, and a black bottom
man! I've never seen a brown bic before, i went to 7 diff cities never seen a brown one not even in my hometown lebanon... i'd pay to get it its been 2 years collecting lighters and bic
funny that i find the pinks ones the rarest never seen on before in real on the other hand brown ones are very common and purple is also i work at a gas station that sell lighters n we have almost every colour but pink
if your interested in buying any you should let me know and i can get them n list them on ebay for you and yes we have purple and yellow and brown :) but not the bloody colour i want pink :(
The rarest one I have ever seen was a beige colored bic. But I haven't seen another one like it in years, let alone I only have seen it once.
i kid you not, i came across the only Grey bic ive ever seen, it was at a quicktrip near my house. i didnt even know there were grey ones!
I have a weird coral colored bic. It's creamy pink I guess but it's nothing like I have ever seen before. It's coral bottom with coral siding and a coral gas plunger. How rare is it?
I just scored a pink one the other day in a 5 pack at CVS
I have been looking for different colors for a project I am working on. I remember seeing both tan and grey ones as well as light blue and light purple, but have seen none of these in a long time. Of course I am just today realizing about rare colors so will start to keep a better look out! I saw a few brown ones recently as well.
The tougher colors here seem to be green, black and white.
TONS of red, orange and yellow. In fact the other day on my search I had access to a brand new 50 pack as the cashier opened it and there was only ONE white and ONE black in the entire lot!
i think pink is the rarest in my country
Brown bic lighters can not be that rare they are all over here lighters with a black button are rare
have you ever seen a bic lighter with a green button
Out here in Valencia Ca we have a butt load of yellow, red, blue, dark green, white, black, purple, brown, and Orange. I've seen a couple pink and I've even seen light green I've even seen like one cacky color once but never a gray or light purple. Man now I'm Gunna start to collect bic I have a good start with a red and light blue and white. I already collected beer bics I have a chargers foot ball one too go chargers! LOL. I think I'm just Gunna collect them all! Lol
i have like 8 brown lighters. i snatch those everytime i see them at gas stations. i got some of those lighter blue ones and a purple one. never seen pink but then again i dont look for it.
also, yellow lighters are the devil. i had 2 of them, got to my buddy's place to chill and walking out one of them dudes was like "hey man you know those yellow lighters are bad luck?" i chuckled at his statement, thinking he was full of shit. got to my car and my battery had completely died for no reason. or was the reason the 2 yellow demons in my pocket? we'll never know
Brown is common in Australia
Follow the link below it takes you to a bic sight where you can look at all the lighter colours
I have been collecting for 3 months and already have 8 grey and I have a wood grain that doesn't have a wrapper on it. Its a solid woodgrain lighter!
White is probably seen as bad luck because it could be postulated that it is easier to see a white lighter in the dark as opposed to a darker colored lighter if you're attempting to be stealthy.
white bics are bad luck cuz of celebrities that died while they had white ones if im rmbrn right
About 10 years ago I found an all black bic at work...and when I say all black, I mean everything was black except for the hood, spark wheel, and cheeks. They, of course, were metal. The base and fork(fuel release) were both completely black; just the same as the body of the lighter. To this day, I have neither seen nor heard of another one like it. Every other bic I've ever seen has had the typical red fork and white bottom. Although it has been empty for nearly a decade, I still have it somewhere in a box in storage. I need to go looking for it so I can take some pictures. It really is a beautiful lighter. And no, it was not wrapped, painted or altered in any way. It is a genuine, all-black bic lighter. Since I didn't personally buy it, I have no idea from where it came.
Has anyone else ever owned or even seen one like it before? In a different color, perhaps?

Interesting Hub article. I do not smoke but I love the colours of the cigarette lighters.
